Training & Qualifications

You can access training and education pathways to help you further your career and build on new skills to help you in your job. Employers will help to support you through your training so you can achieve your higher education goals.

At the beginning of a new job position, everyone is shown the ropes with an induction and basic training. You are given the opportunity to work with someone who will show you the daily duties and offer insight and skills that will support you in your new care worker role.

You will complete certificates for safeguarding adults, food safety, manual handling, and specialised training depending on your chosen role, such as learning more about dementia.

There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and get the support you need throughout your training.

Beyond the first set of certificates, you will be given the opportunity to take NVQ qualifications. This will further your skillset, allowing for greater responsibility and a higher income. Aside to moving up the career ladder, there is great satisfaction from gaining further personal development and higher education.
